Ruckus turns terrible two

What a long strange trip it's been putting on these Poetry Ruckuses for the last two years at Ducky Waddle's. I have so many new friends, poems and experiences to be grateful for. I hope that you can join us this Wednesday October 26th to celebrate the Ruckus the same way it started: in Halloween costumes!!!

If you're not the dressing up type, please join us anyway. Doors at 7 PM, reading by 7:15 and our most excellent guest Jared A Muscat by 9 PM. Jared is a neo organic beatnik surf bum activist poet whose flavorful words have graced the Ruckus since before it was the Ruckus.

-We are well past deadline on Da Ruckus vol II submissions and only one person has submitted. I may have forgot to mention that this time around we are in the process of teaming up with a real publishing company and will have a nice looking book of Ruckus poets with original artwork. Either way it will not look like a spiral notebook or have staples this time around. October first is the new deadline, and you submit by sending me one o two original poems no longer than one page in length: ruthlesshippies@gmail.com

In Motion Trio, The award winning local jazz combo, will perform this Friday evening, August 26, in the Salon @ The DUCK. The In Motion Trio is an instrumental jazz group that delivers steamy Afro-Beat grooves and an eclectic blend of funk. They received the "Best Jazz Artist" award at the recent 2011 San Diego Music Awards. Doors open at 7:00, show starts at 8:00. Suggested donation $5.00.
